Custom Printing FAQ

What file formats do you accept?
We recommend submitting print-ready PDF files whenever possible. We also accept JPG, PNG, TIFF, PSD, AI, and other common graphic design formats.

What resolution should my artwork be?
For the best print quality, all artwork should be created at a minimum of 300 DPI (dots per inch) at the final print size. Lower-resolution files may appear blurry, pixelated, or soft when printed.

Do I need bleed and trim marks?
Yes. Any artwork that extends to the edge of the printed piece should include standard bleed.

Recommended setup:

  • 0.125" (1/8") bleed on all sides
  • Keep important text and artwork at least 0.125" inside the trim line
  • Include trim marks when exporting print-ready PDFs if available

Failure to include proper bleed may result in unwanted white edges after trimming.

What is a safe area?
The safe area is the space inside your design where important elements such as text, logos, and critical artwork should remain.

Because trimming can vary slightly during production, avoid placing important content too close to the edge of the document.

Which color mode should I use?
CMYK color mode is recommended for print projects.

Files created in RGB may experience slight color shifts during conversion to CMYK printing. While we strive to match colors as closely as possible, exact color reproduction cannot be guaranteed.

Why do printed colors look different from my screen?
Computer monitors, phones, and tablets display colors using light (RGB), while printers reproduce colors using ink (CMYK). Variations in brightness, contrast, paper stock, and device calibration can affect how colors appear.

Can you fix my files before printing?
We perform a basic file review to identify obvious issues, but customers are ultimately responsible for supplying print-ready artwork.

If major file corrections are required, additional design fees may apply.

What happens if my file is low resolution?
If we identify a significant issue that may affect print quality, we may contact you before production. However, we cannot guarantee every issue will be caught during file review.

Low-resolution files may print exactly as submitted.

Can I print copyrighted artwork?
You must own the rights to any artwork, logos, photographs, or intellectual property you submit for printing, or have permission from the rights holder.

We reserve the right to refuse any order that may violate copyright, trademark, or licensing laws.

Will my stickers, postcards, or prints look exactly like the digital proof?
Minor variations in color, trimming, cutting, and placement are considered normal within commercial printing tolerances.

This is especially true for:

  • Die-cut stickers
  • Folded products
  • Large-format prints
  • Products with full-bleed artwork

What file size should I submit?
Submit artwork at the exact final print dimensions whenever possible.

Examples:

  • 4" x 6" postcard = 4.25" x 6.25" file with bleed
  • 5" x 7" art print = 5.25" x 7.25" file with bleed

Scaling small files upward may reduce image quality.

Do you offer proofs?
Digital proofs may be available for select products upon request. Please note that digital proofs are intended to verify layout and content and may not perfectly represent final printed color.

What if I need help setting up my file?
No problem. Contact us before placing your order and we'll do our best to help you prepare your artwork for production.
